When First Nation students eat nutritious food at Matawa Education and Care Centre’s Student Nutrition Program it helps ensure that all students have an equal chance to learn and grow into their full potential.The Student Nutrition Program also creates opportunities to learn traditional food harvesting knowledge and skills their sense of culture and identity is enhanced which makes them better able to deal with adversity. Our Student Nutrition Program helps students: Increase Learning, Increase Healthy Growth and Development, Reduce Student Food Insecurity, Food is always available, Increase Food Skills, Cultural Food Teachings.
