Matawa Book Translation and Creation Project

PASS’s Book Translation and Creation Project focuses on reflecting Matawa communities and their language in the print materials that surround them. PASS staff work with community translators to translate already written culturally relevant children’s books that come from partner publishers, and reprint them in community dialects. In addition, PASS staff are creating new children’s books that feature community members and activities, with the goal of documenting and celebrating traditional activities. These created books are also translated into community dialects.
